Kriti Sanon Rakshabandhan ad: Kriti Sanon is facing massive backlash online after appearing in a Raksha Bandhan jewellery advertisement wearing a fusion outfit featuring a bralette-style blouse, a cape and a draped skirt. While some users called the look inappropriate for a festive campaign, others defended the actor and said women should not be judged for what they wear.

The advertisement also shows Kriti tying a rakhi to a dog after he barks at her. The idea of including a pet in the festival did not go down well with a section of netizens, while others focused on her outfit and questioned whether it was suitable for Raksha Bandhan.

Kriti’s outfit became one of the main talking points after the advertisement was shared online. Some users felt that the bralette-style blouse was too revealing for a campaign around Raksha Bandhan, while others said the criticism amounted to policing a woman’s clothing.

Some of the criticism also brought religion into the discussion, with users questioning whether similar outfits would be accepted for festivals such as Eid or Christmas.

Kriti Sanon Fans Rally Behind Her

Not everyone agreed with the criticism. Many users also came to Kriti’s defence and argued that her outfit was a modern take on traditional festive wear rather than something inappropriate.

One user wrote, “Everyone trolling Kriti Sanon for this GIVA ad, saying she’s wearing a “bikini.” Is she? Nope. She’s not dressed inappropriately. Maybe her outfit just doesn’t fit your definition of “decency.” I could wear that in front of my brother too. Same people cheering her bikini scenes in movies are now policing her clothes. Women are judged either way. Get a life, trollers.”

Another user said, “Funny how people suddenly become guardians of decency when it comes to womens clothes. If you dont like the outfit, scroll. No need to police someone else choices.”

A third one wrote, “Kriti Sanon’s Rakhi AD sparks outrage over cleavage & tying rakhi to a dog. Critics questioned her so called “revealing outfit” during a festival & objected to her tying a rakhi to her pet dog, calling the portrayal inappropriate !! Moral police!”

Raksha Bandhan 2026 will be celebrated on August 28, marking the Hindu festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. On the occasion, sisters traditionally tie a rakhi around their brothers’ wrists and pray for their well-being, while brothers often give gifts in return.
