Amin Sharif is the son of Razakar Munshi Miah of Raipur Union of Anwara Upazila. A human chain program was held on December 9 at 4 pm in front of Chattogram Press Club to protest against the filing of case against writer Jamal Uddin and heroic freedom fighter Mohammad Yusuf and demand withdrawal of the case.

Chittagong Civil Society of All Levels” organizes this human chain. Chairman of the Liberation War Research Center Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman was the chief guest at the human chain presided over by Bir Muktijoddha Abul Mansur Chowdhury.

Ali Hossain, heroic freedom fighter Surjit Das Sunu, Anwara Press Club President Saroj Ahmed, General Secretary Mozammel Haque, M.A. Sabur, Pranab Ranjan Chakraborty, Rokon Uddin Ahmed, Rajib Sharma, M. Jasim Uddin, Sheikh Abdullah, Rafiq Ahmed Khan, Sajal Das, Ramchandra Das, Rajesh Chakraborty, Fauzul Azad Chowdhury and others spoke in solidarity with the human chain organized by the organizer Sinchan Bhowmik.

Speakers at the human chain said, we are celebrating the golden jubilee of independence. It is highly reprehensible to file a case against Razakar’s son for writing a history of the Liberation War against a heroic freedom fighter and researcher on the Liberation War during the golden age of Independence Day celebrations. It is the responsibility of the freedom fighters, writers, journalists and researchers to present the correct history of the liberation war to the new generation. Jamal Uddin is well known in Chattogram as an ideal writer and researcher of the spirit of liberation war. Author Jamal Uddin published the name of Razakar in his book and the heroic freedom fighter Mohammad Yusuf did not commit any crime by giving information in the two books. The two have identified themselves as patriotic citizens. We strongly condemn and protest against the filing of case against the son of Razakar in the name of writer Jamal Uddin and heroic freedom fighter Mohammad Yusuf on behalf of all levels of civil society, freedom fighters, poets, writers, journalists, researchers and professionals in Chattogram. We strongly urge the pro-liberation government to withdraw the case.
